Bilawal calls Mirwaiz, vows full support to Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari yesterday has vowed full support to the Kashmiri people amid the human rights violations by the Indian forces.

Bilawal spoke to All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq over telephone and condoled with him the deaths of innocent Kashmiris at the hands of Indian security forces in Kashmir.

The PPP chief condemned the Indian atrocities in strongest possible words. He said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto always supported the Kashmir cause and the right of self-determination for the Kashmiri people.

He said that PPP will continue to support Kashmiris and will also raise voice against atrocities by the Indian forces.

Bilawal directed the PPP workers to hold a protest demonstration in front of the press clubs in every city of Pakistan today to express solidarity with Kashmiri people. The violence erupted in Kashmir over the past six days as 40 innocent and unarmed Kashmiri civilians were killed by the Indian army.

Curfew had been imposed in some parts of occupied Kashmir as the Kashmiris continued their strike against the Indian government.

Hurriyat leaders Syed Ali Shah Jeelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were placed under house arrest by the Indian government. Hurriyat leaders extended their strike against the Indian government till July 15.

Meanwhile, PPP Senator Saeed Ghani in a statement strongly condemned the attack on a PPP candidate in Kashmir elections Faisal Mumtaz Rathore in Islamabad.

The attack was carried out when Rathore was returning to the Kashmir House after obtaining bail in a case registered against him by Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). “The case is totally fake and concocted. Attack on Faisal Mumtaz Rathore is a clear proof that PML-N has accepted defeat in AJK elections,” Ghani said.

He said the PML-N cannot get success in any constituency in a free and fair election. “They PML-N always got fake mandate and it is exposed each time. PPP is once again going to win elections in AJK and will certainly form the government,” he added.
