Four Pac-12 quarterbacks make Davey O'Brien watch list

Along with the start of conference media days, watch list season is yet another sign that the return of college football is quickly approaching. On Thursday, the watch list for the Davey O'Brien Award, which honors the nation's top quarterback, was released. The Pac-12 has four QBs on the preseason list.

Washington State junior Luke Falk, a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien Award last season, is one of the early headliners of the watch list ahead of the 2016 season. Falk led the nation in passing yards per game (380.5) and had the second-best pass completion percentage in the country (69.4) last year.

Arizona junior Anu Solomon also returns to the Davey O'Brien watch list for the second straight year. Solomon recorded 2,667 passing yards and 20 touchdowns in the 2015 season.

UCLA sophomore Josh Rosen (3,670 passing yards, 23 TDs) and Washington sophomore Jake Browning (2,955 passing yards, 16 TDs) round out the Pac-12 players represented on the list.

The last quarterback to bring the Davey O'Brien award home for the conference was Oregon's Marcus Mariota following the 2014 season.

Sixteen semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien Award will be named on Nov. 10. From that list, three finalists will be selected on Nov. 22. The winner will be announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 8 on ESPN.
