The Sri Lankan insurance industry saw double-digit growth last year in terms of premiums. The total GWP for long-term insurance and general insurance businesses in 2015 stood at LKR122,390 million (US$840 million) compared to LKR105,399 million in 2014, reflecting a growth of 16.1%, according to the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka (IBSL).
