Iran Island of stability, says Navy commander

Qom, July 14, IRNA -- Iran is island of stability and security of the region, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said.

Speaking in a local ceremony on Wednesday, he hailed the role of sustainable stability in country's progress and said that at the present time, Iran has an exemplary security in the world.

Praising people's advocacy for the armed forces, the commander said enemies' efforts for sabotaging Iran's security is doomed to failure.

Sayyari added that the defenders of shrines (Iran's military advisors in Syria) are fighting in the frontline for the security of Islamic Republic.

Despite sanctions, Iran is now self-sufficient in construction of equipments it needs in all fields, he added elsewhere in his remarks.

The commander underlined that all the military equipment, including Jamaran destroyer, submarines and rocket launchers, are made in Iran.

The Iranian Army Navy is now present in the international waters, including the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans, he added.

Sayyari stressed that Iran is now an important player in the region and nothing can be done by the international community in the region without Iran's assistance.
