Stranger approaches young girls in Reading, police investigating
Young girls in Reading were approached by a stranger on two consecutive days in Reading, police said.
The first incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, when police received a report report of a car following a group of 12-year-olds down Van Norden Road. Police said the driver allegedly stopped suddenly and tried to talk to the girls.
That vehicle was described as a small, white car with tinted windows. The vehicle was playing loud music and driving without lights, police said.
In a similar incident the next day, police received a report of a 12-year-old girl being approached by a man on Forest Street near Reading Memorial High School.
In the Wednesday incident, police said the girl refused an offer for a ride home.
She described the man as a white or Hispanic man, approximately 35-years-old, with dark hair and a beard.
