Romeo Santos has reached another milestone in his career: The Bronx-native singer became only the second Latin artist to hit 1 billion views on YouTube with his “Propuesta Indecente” video.
The first Latin artist and Spanish-language song to surpass a billion views was Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias back in 2014 with his summer anthem “Bailando,” featuring Gente de Zona and Descemer Bueno.
Now, the “King of Bachata” and also CEO of Roc Nation Latin reached 1 billion views at the end of June with his video featuring Mexican singer and actress Eiza González, which was watched over 1 million times per day and peaked at over 1.7 million views daily, according to YouTube.

Santos not only hit 1 billion views, but also sits at No. 8 on this week’s YouTube Global Top 100 Music Charts, which includes Iglesias, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony and Calvin Harris in the top five.
In June, the former Aventura frontman partnered with Jay Z to launch and lead the Latin division of Roc Nation. Additionally, he signed a management deal with the company.
“For them to show interest in managing me, that was pretty appealing. It’s just that when they reached out about four years ago, I had a lot going on. I’m not superstitious, but I think the time is now. When they came to us with the whole CEO proposal I said, ‘This is a win-win situation,'” Santos told Billboard back in June.
