Allahabad: Janata Dal (United) has tightened its belt for the party rally that will be organised in Phulpur on July 17. Bihar chief minister and JD(U) president Nitish Kumar and former JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav are expected to participate in it.
State president of Janata Dal (United) Suresh Niranjan held a meeting of the party workers on Thursday and discussed the strategy of making the rally successful.
He said that around 5,000 workers from the city and 10,000 workers from the district may reach the rally venue.
Addressing the workers, Niranjan observed that there is need for a leader like Nitish Kumar in the present times the country is passing through. Maharashtrs leader Sharad Pawar, Bengal chief minister Mamta Banarjee, Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha and even chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal have underlined the need for handing the reins of the country in the hands of a leader like Nitish Kumar.
He said: "We have to take the message of Nitish to the masses for making the country free from RSS, liquor-free society and running the country in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
City president of JD(U) Syed Shahid Hasan said that the previous rallies of JD(U) at Mirzapur, Varanasi and Noida were quite successful. A rally will also be organised at Kanpur for which the date will be announced in the rally here on July 17.
Sharad Yadav will arrive in Allahabad on July 16 to monitor the preparations of the rally.
