Huddersfield have signed Gene Ormsby from fellow Super League club Warrington.

The winger, 23, played for the Giants earlier this season on a loan deal but has moved to the Kirklees Stadium permanently after the Wolves decided to release him.

"It's exciting to be back," Ormsby said.

"I really enjoyed my time here when I was on loan so it is great to be back here with the boys."

Englishman Ormsby scored 29 tries in 42 appearances for Warrington since his move from Swinton in 2014 but played just five times for them this season.

"The opportunity presented itself to come here and I wanted to get game time so it is good for my career to be here and the chance to work for Rick Stone is something I am looking forward to."

The transfer was scheduled for 2017 but has been brought forward and Ormsby becomes new coach Rick Stone's first signing - the Australian was unveiled in a press conference earlier today.

Orsmby could make his debut in Sunday's clash with St Helens. The Giants then play his former side Warrington on the 23rd July.
