Screening: Life in Metaphors

Directed by O.P. Shrivastava, this 87-minute biographical film explores the narrative techniques of film director Girish Kasaravalli. A notable filmmaker, Kasaravalli directed Ghatashraddha (1977) and Tabarana Kathe (1986) and is the recipient of 14 National Film Awards. Kasaravalli has deep affection for neo-realism in films and counts directors like Kurosawa, Yasujiro Ozu and Fellini among his influences. After the screening, Namrata Joshi, Cinema Editor, The Hindu , will have a conversation with the director , followed by an interactive session. Tickets: Rs. 300 per person.
