The Cleveland Cavaliers were the obvious choice for the 2016 team of the year at the ESPYs, and when they won on Wednesday, they took to the stage and brought jokes with them. When J.R. Smith took the microphone from LeBron James, a bunch of his teammates pointed out that he finally had a shirt on. Before Channing Frye took his turn, James told him that the audience didn't know who he was. Then Frye turned things around on James, thanking the Cavaliers organization "for giving this guy a chance."

The big winners here:

  • Frye, obviously
  • Tristan Thompson, who kept his speech so brief that his teammates didn't have time to get any jokes in
  • Richard Jefferson, who continued his reign as the NBA's premier Snapchat artist, filming everything

The Cavs weren't always known as a fun, tight-knit team. Later in the season, though, their personalities started to come out. Now that they've won a championship, they have become downright goofy. This is only a good thing.
