Maihar, Mandideep go to civic body polls tomorrow

Bhopal: Maihar, Mandideep and Isagarh will go to civic body polls on Friday. Maihar in Satna district and Mandideep in Raisen district will elect its representatives to Nagar Palikas (municipal council) and Isagarh in Ashokenagar district for Nagar Parishad. Campaigning came to an end on Wednesday evening.

Addressing gathering at Ghantaghar Square, the CM said he would develop the temple town like a dream city. Maihar in a bypoll, elected BJP's Narayan Tripathi earlier this year.
Recalling Maihar bypoll, chief minister Chouhan said people in the town have already elected a BJP MP and MLA. He appealed that they should also vote for a BJP town council chairman. Chouhan claimed his government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore to develop Maihar as a Smart City. Transforming Maihar to a Smart City was one of chief minister's promises made before the assembly bypoll in the constituency.
The CM said most development demands made by residents of Maihar have also been implemented, many are near completion. He said finance would never be a problem in development of Maihar. However, all construction works undertaken in a town council area is a responsibility of the town council chairman. He appealed to voters to cast their votes in favour of BJP town council chairman candidate Dheeraj Pandey, who is a capable and responsible.
Chouhan also appealed that Maihar should vote for BJP councillors in all 24 wards of the town. "Guarantor for Maihar's development will be me. I had promised development works before the assembly bypoll here. All that work has commenced," he said.
