LAHORE: Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafree on Monday moved a petition before the Lahore High Court (LHC), challenging the return of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from UK on a ‘special’ plane of Pakistan International Airline (PIA). He stated that hard-earned amount from the public exchequer was spent on sending a dedicated plane to London for the return of PM. He stated that the PM should bear all expenses for his medical treatment as well as travelling from his own pocket instead of the national kitty. He requested the court to order the federal government deposit back in the national exchequer all expenses incurred upon the treatment and travelling of the PM. Barrister Jafree had already filed a petition against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 2014, challenging his visit to New York on a private plane along with his family members and personal servant. He had alleged that precious public money was used by the PM and his family on their personal and lavish foreign tours. He alleged that the PM stayed in a hotel at Rs 800,000 per night during his visit to New York two years ago. He had submitted that the people in the corridor of power could not use the national exchequer for their luxurious lifestyles. He requested to place the prime minister and his family members on Exit Control List (ECL) and restrain them from using public money on foreign tours.
