Two killed as bus rams truck

Palanpur: Two persons including a woman were killed and 10 others got injured when a luxury bus rammed into a trailer truck near Chitrasani, about 17km from Palanpur on Wednesday morning.
Police said the bus was going towards Jodhpur from Bangalore. The accident took place when the truck was taking a turn and the bus rammed into it. The right side of the bus was ripped off, they added.
The deceased were identified as Ambuben Gameti, 62, of Dhedhavli village in Jodhpur, and Samdarsingh Rajput, 40, of Madoda village in Jodhpur.
Police rushed to the spot along with the emergency team and moved the injured to the civil hospital in Palanpur.
Traffic on the Palanpur-Mount Abu national highway number 14 was affected for over two hours as police struggled to remove the wreckage of the bus.
