BELLFLOWER — Corona del Mar High incoming senior Bryan Samudro finished first in the bench press and second in the power clean to help the Sea Kings finish third as a team in the St. John Bosco Lineman Competition on Saturday.

Samudro, a first-team All-Pacific Coast League right guard last year, bench-pressed 205 pounds 24 times and power cleaned 310 pounds, said CdM Coach Dan O’Shea.

Samudro is one of four returning starters on the offensive line for CdM. The other three, all seniors in the fall, are center Arwin Rahmatpanah, right tackle Denham King and left tackle Connor Reid. The newcomer is Sean Owens, a sophomore projected to step in at left guard.
