Political rivalry behind Kannur deaths: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

POLITICAL RIVALRY led to the murders of a CPM and a BJP worker in Kannur district late Monday night, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly Wednesday.

Replying to the notice of an adjournment motion moved by Opposition member K Muraleedharan, Vijayan said CPM worker C V Danarajan was murdered by a 10-member group of BJP workers and BJP leader C K Ramachandran was killed in retaliation.

BJP leader M T Ramesh deplored Vijayan’s reply, saying the CM was justifying the BJP worker’s murder. “Since the CM has taken up the responsibility for the murder, he should reveal names of the culprits,” he said.
