Those perplexed by the new Pokemon mobile game can learn the finer points of finding and trapping the virtual creatures at an upcoming workshop at the Westborough library.The Metrowest Daily News reports a pair of teen volunteers will help beginners learn to play "Pokemon Go" on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the library. Attendees are asked to bring a smartphone or other electronic device capable of loading the game.Released in the United States last week, "Pokemon Go" has quickly become a cultural phenomenon, receiving millions of downloads and generating buzz in the media.The game invites players to visit real-world destinations, such as parks and historic sites, to collect Pokemon characters using their phones.As of Wednesday morning, "Pokemon Go" had been installed 15 million times on Apple devices and others equipped with Google's Android operating system, according to research firm SensorTower. The company reported that iPhone users spent an average of 33 minutes playing the game, dwarfing engagement on other popular applications the company analyzed, including Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter.“Have you been hearing about the 'Pokemon Go' craze — and have no idea what it is or how to get started?” reads an announcement from the library. “Wondering why you’re suddenly seeing lots of people walking around in public staring at their phones?
