Vivek Oberoi is enjoying his fatherhood

The actor says that his time away from Bollywood helped him appreciate the finer things in life such as his family and children.

Stepping out of the shadows for his new film Great Grand Masti, Vivek Oberoi’s finally back in the media glare and seems to be enjoying every bit of it. But the Saathiya actor says that the past few years outside of the limelight have helped him appreciate and enjoy his time with his family.

“The past 5-6 years have been really great, especially on the personal front. I understood the value of fatherhood. Now, I look forward to going home and meeting my children. With whatever little time I get with them, I am happy. Being with my kids de-stresses me from all sorts of tiredness and strain. These moments are the best in my life,” Vivek says.

He adds that he now sympathises with his own father, Suresh: “After becoming a father I, too, change the nappies of my kids, even late in the night. And now I understand how my dad had felt, who must have tried hard to make me understand at times. Only when you step into their shoes you understand what it is to become a father.”

When asked for his thoughts on the hue and cry about Great Grand Masti being a sex comedy with many double entendres, Vivek says, “We have had films like these from the past 30-35 years. Every one has their own personal choice. I do not see anything wrong in bringing forth whatever really happens in the society, as films script are finally inspired by stories from real life incidents.”

On the career front, after Great Grand Masti, Vivek will be producing his first film, as well as starring in Bank Chor, with Yash Raj Films.
