NCST chairman visits Kandhmal to probe killing of five civilians in anti-Maoist operation

Bhubaneswar, Jul 13 (UNI) National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) Chairman Rameswar Oraon today cautioned the Odisha government to ensure that the Kandhmal firing in which five innocent tribals were killed by the security forces will not reoccur in future.
Mr Oraon today visited Kandhmal along with NCST Secretary Anil Agarwal and Director R K Dubey for an on the spot inquiry into the killing of five tribals on July 8 night during an alleged encounter between the SOG Jawans and the Maoists.
The NCST Chairman talked to the family members of the deceased tribals at Baliguda to ascertain the circumstances under which the tribals were killed by the security forces.
