Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jul 13 2016 3:14PM Naga govt denies media report on ban of dog meatKohima, Jul 13 (UNI) The Government of Nagaland, reacting to media reports that the administration was in the process of banning the use of dog meat as food in the state, clarified that the Municipal Affairs Department had issued directives to the Urban Local Bodies to take care of animals and prevent cruelty to animals in the wake of legal notice. In a statement, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Maongwati Aier, however, stated that there was no proposal to ban the consumption of dog meat as a food item in the state. A news agency report that ‘Nagaland Government in the process of banning dog meat in the state’ by Municipal Affairs Department (MAD) has grabbed eyeballs of not only regional newspapers but national alike.
