Hubballi: Like Congress, the BJP-led government at the Centre is also trying to defame Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti, alleged Sri Ram Sene chief Pramod Muthalik on Saturday.
Talking to reporters here, Muthalik said that the government is trying to trap these organizations in the murder cases of rationalists without any concrete evidence against them.
"The murders of Dabholkar, Pansare and Kalburgi took place during the tenure of Congress governments in the respective states. It was a conspiracy of Congress to defame Hindu organizations. Now, the BJP is joining hands with Congress," he said.
Advocate Chetan Manerikar said that the Sanstha is not involved in unlawful activities. "In the Madagaon bomb blast case, the accused were released due to lack of evidence. In the judgment, it was stated that the FIR was prepared to implicate the accused," he said.
