Bombay Scottish (Mahim) registered a 6-0 win over St Sebastian Goan High School (Girgaum) in Round One of the District Sports Office (DSO) Subroto Mukherjee boys' U-14 inter-school football tournament at the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) ground, Azad Maidan yesterday.

Bombay Scottish's Veer Gidwani opened the scoring for the Mahim outfit in the fifth minute when he caught goalkeeper Rudra Karande at the near post with a neat finish before doubling the lead just a minute later when his weak shot was let in by the goalkeeper.

Zhaehan Menon then scored in the 12th minute to make it 3-0 which was followed by probably the goal of the match by Divyam Chhabra, who after receiving the ball in the penalty area, brilliantly slotted it home with a fine bottom corner finish in the 13th minute.

Menon then made it five for Bombay Scottish in the 17th minute with a powerful shot beyond the reach of the St Sebastian goalkeeper Karande, doubling his day's goal tally in the process.

Substitute Sarabjyot Chawala scored the game's final goal in the 19th minute via a simple tap-in after he found himself in front of an empty net when a free kick hit the post and the ball fell in his way.

St Sebastian just couldn't cope up with the pressure they were put under by the Bombay Scottish boys who pressed high up, and robbed St Sebastian off possession time and time again which led to their downfall.

"We played some nice passes today and were really clinical in front of the goal," said Sachin Panchal, the coach of Bombay Scottish.
