'Anga Pradakshina' pilgrims must carry Aadhaar card in Tirumala

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to make Aadhaar card mandatory for the pilgrims, who wish to participate in circumambulation (Anga Pradakshina) of the temple in Tirumala.

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to make Aadhaar card mandatory for the pilgrims, who wish to participate in circumambulation (Anga Pradakshina) of the temple in Tirumala.
TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday announced that the devotees participating in Anga Pradakshinam should invariably carry their Aadhaar cards.
"We have made Aadhaar mandatory," he said.
Sambasiva Rao, earlier, conducted a review meeting with senior officials of the temple at Annamaiah Bhavan.
He instructed officials to strictly enforce the Aadhaar rule for circumambulation. The EO instructed the officials concerned to regularly verify the stocks of gold, silver and copper dollars of Lord Sri Venkateswara.
The TTD will set up 1,000-shelf shoe racks at Seva Sadan complex in APSRTC bus stand and at MTVAC in Tirumala.
