Foundation Day celebrated

St Lawrence International School, Jagadhri, celebrated its foundation day on Tuesday. Industrialist Lion Dinesh Gupta was the chief guest at the function. Students participated in various competitions, including paper reading, spellathon, extempore, calligraphy and antakshari. The overall trophy was bagged by the Nilgiri House. TNS

One dies in roof collapse

A labourer was killed and another injured when the roof of their rooms collapsed near Joriya naka here today. The police said Rajeshwer and Pradhuman Kumar of West Bengal were pulled out of the debris and taken to hospital where Rajeshwar was declared dead upon arrival. TNS

One booked

The police have booked Gollu, a resident of Kithana village of the district, on charge of outraging the modesty of a woman of the same village. A case was registered after Geeta (25) alleged that he tried to outrage her modesty when she was alone at home on July 10. He fled when she resisted him. OC
