“It is the primary social responsibility of all people to plant trees and watch them grow,” remarked Navin Mittal, Commissioner, I&PR, Hyderabad.
Navin Mittal was speaking after planting a sapling on the premises of Information & Public Relations Department at Masab Tank, here on Tuesday, as a part of Haritha Haram program. He exhorted all Public Relations Officers of the Department to propagate and publicize the importance of sapling plantation among the masses and play instrumental role in making the noble program of the State government a total success.
The I&PR Commissioner also appealed to the general public to participate in the program in large numbers and help increase afforestation coverage in the State. The drive will not only invite sufficient rains, but also helps in checking environmental pollution and drought conditions. The sapling plantation program has been simultaneously taken up in all the districts and divisional offices of the Department on Tuesday.
