Known to be choosy about his roles, popular actor TV Arhaan Behll is set to return to the small screen with a show based on the warrior king Maharaja Ranjit Singh. A Contiloe Entertainment Private Limited's production that will air on Life OK, Arhaan will play the key role of Ranjit Singh's father, Maha Singh.
The actor was the first choice to play the role, but when he could not take it up, it went to Eijaz Khan, who opted out for reasons best known to him.
Says a source associated with the project, "Arhaan was always the original choice for the role, but he couldn't take up the offer back then because of date issues. We then approached Eijaz, who was quite excited about playing the part, but the deal didn't materialise. We are elated to have Arhaan on board as he fits the bill perfectly."

The show will also mark Bollywood actor Chandrachur Singh's acting debut on television. He will be seen as Jai Singh, Ranjit Singh’s grandfather Charat Singh’s close friend. Sneha Wagh will play Ranjit Singh’s mother in the show. After Maha Singh's death, it will be Jai Singh who will turn friend, philosopher and guide to Ranjit Singh.
Arhaan was last seen in a guest appearance in the same production house's popular show 'Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat'. Maharaja Ranjit Singh is his first full-fledged historical show. The actor remained unavailable to comment on the news.
