Santhanam's "Dhilluku Dhuddu" has been welcomed by the Tamil audience, and the movie has got a good start at the box office. The Kollywood film has raked in close to Rs. 13 crore in its four-day weekend in Tamil Nadu.

"#DhillukuDhuddu had a solid 4 day opening weekend.. TN gross close to 13 crores.. @ThenandalFilms @iamsanthanam [sic]," journalist Kaushik LM tweeted. The Kollywood movie was released on July 7 in over 325 screens in Tamil Nadu.

"Dhilluku Dhuddu" had managed to generate a good buzz, which translated into a good opening, say trade experts. The Tamil flick has done well despite getting mixed reviews. In fact, a section of the audience was not impressed with the first half.

In Chennai, "Dhilluku Dhuddu" has collected Rs. 1.48 crore in its first weekend. The movie had 243 shows and faced good competition from Salman Khan's "Sultan," which earned Rs. 1.29 crore from 165 shows.

It has to be seen how "Dhilluku Dhuddu" will perform in the coming days. The film should do well for at least a week in order to make profits.

"Dhilluku Dhuddu" has been written and directed by Rambala and produced by Sri Thenandal Films. It features SS Thaman's music, Deepak Kumar Pathy's cinematography and Gopi's editing. Shanaya plays the female lead in the film, which features Karunas, Mottai Rajendran, Anandaraj, Saurabh Shukla and others in the supporting cast.

The comedy elements and the performance of Santhanam and other comedians have won the hearts of the audience.
