JGB investors betting on BOJ action in late July

TOKYO -- Yields on medium-term Japanese government bonds, seen as a key indicator of expectations in the JGB market concerning Bank of Japan policy, have fallen sharply in the past week.

Investors are buying medium-term JGBs in expectation of further easing from the BOJ at its policy board meeting at the end of July in response to weaker inflation data and a stronger yen.
