Moola Brindavan to get facelift

Surplus funds to be used for construction of Vidyapeeth.

Anantapur: The rebuilding of the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Raghavendra Swamy at the Sri Raghavendraswamy Moola Vrindavan at Mantralayam in Kurnool district, is an innovative development project that is taking place through donations from devotees. Estimated to cost Rs 10 crore, every stone slab used in the construction of the interior enclosure around the Vrindavan is available for devotees to sponsor, they being free to donate any number.

The donation will be offered only after the devotee's name is taken in the sankalpa (or proclamation of intention) of the construction. The surplus funds from this will be used for the construction of the new building of the Shri Gurusarvabhouma Samskruta Vidya Peetha at Mantralayam. Spokespersons at the Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Math said that the previous pontiff Sri Suyateendra Theertha Swamiji had undertaken to rebuild the sanctum sanctorum to create a covered stone structure with pillars in the ancient architectural style. Pontiff Subudendra Theertha Swamiji said the Sri Matha was capable of constructing the stone pavilion, “But we wish to offer devotees a unique opportunity to make a contribution towards the project and be blessed.”
