JAMMU, July 11: A special medical camp was conducted by the Army at Surankote in Poonch district, today.
This was the first of such therapeutic effort being made by the Army wherein follow up treatment was also being provided after check-ups carried out by super-specialists of great repute.
Patients from far and wide places like Hilkaka, Mandi, Jhullas and Mendhar attended the specialist medical camp on all three days when news of presence of Dr Sushil Razdan spread through word of mouth and through publicity on all India Radio. Many of the neurologically ill and patients with other ailments also wanted to meet and got treated from him with a belief that his healing touch will relieve them of all miseries.
The women folks outnumbered the men, when they came to know about the presence of Dr Sarla Kaul and Dr Rajni Razdan who are eminent Radiologist and Gynaecologist of J&K. There were certain people who had come from far off places to just thank Army and the team of Dr Sushil Razdan for organizing such a camp. Mohd Bashir from Loran came along with his family to have a look at the eminent panel of doctors.
The NCC cadets of Army Goodwill School, Potha, provided the personal touch and voluntary service for the ‘Divyaang’ and elderly despite school holidays and heavy rains. The major objective of the medical camp was achieved when Medical Officers could identify a number of cases of congenial heart diseases and cataract who will be provided further advanced treatment in the coming days.
The response of the special medical camp was most promising to say the least and is the beginning of more such fruitful and meaningful endeavors by the Army which will provide relief and much needed services to the locals of remote areas of the twin districts.
