Capt Abhimanyu orders action against PIO

Ambala, July 11 (UNI) Presiding over the meeting of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee at the Panchayat Bhawan Ambala today, its chairman Capt Abhimanyu Finance Minister ordered disciplinary action against the public information officer (PIO) of municipal corporation for not supplying the information to the parents of a boy who had lost his both hands in electric accident.
The parents had complained that the information was not provided to them despite repeated request thus they were deprived of the opportunity to apply for compensation given to the victims by the Electricity Board. Of the 54 complaints registered for today’s meeting, 10 were disposed of giving relief to the aggrieved persons.
Meanwhile, the presspersons decided to boycott the meetings presided over by the Minister in future to register their protest against his behaviour at today’s meeting. The Minister had ordered that the press persons should not be allowed to attend the proceedings of the meeting. Earlier, the press was allowed to have free access to the PRGC meetings.
