What if there is a online network which will help the families of ‘missing persons’ to trace their near and dear ones? The ‘Missed Person’ mobile application aims to do just that.

Announcing the launch of ‘Missed Person’ app here on Monday, Managing Director of VRL Logistics and Director of Vijayanand Infotech, Anand Sankeshwar, said that the tag line of the application was ‘Social Cause Networking’.

He said that the mobile application, which is a free service, had its soft launch in May and already the data regarding 42 missing persons had been uploaded. He said he got the idea after watching ‘Bhajarangi Bhaijaan’ and wanted to do something to help families of ‘missing persons’.

Mr. Sankeshwar said they were in touch with the police for verifying and hosting authentic data on the mobile application. Plans were afoot to create awareness about the app through a video clip in English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil.

Editor of Crisp News (App) Ram Raj D. said that once a user uploaded the details of a missing person along with FIR copy, it would be verified by their team before it is hosted. “And if we receive any information on the missed person, it will be first verified and then the information will be passed on to the families and the police,” he said.

Mr. Sankeshwar said another app had already been downloaded by 52,000 mobile users after its soft launch in May. “The users will get crisp news of 60 words on their cell phones on various issues and detailed report will also be available,” he said.

Chief Technical Officer of VRL Ramanand Bhat was present.
