Mysuru: Hundreds of people from Mysuru and Chamarajanagar held a silent protest ral ly on Sunday against chief minister Siddaramaiah for dropping former minister V Srinivas Prasad from the minstry during the recent cabinet reshuffle.
The massive protest was organised to display the dalit strength and unity in old Mysuru region and to make realize the party high command about the loss the party may suffer by meting out injustice to dalit leader Srinivas Prasad.

People from the two districts came to the Town Hall in tempos, buses, cabs and two-wheelers, to lend their support to the protest. The protesters wearing black bands on their shoulders and forehead as a mark of protest took out the rally on the major roads in the city after garlanding Dr BR Ambedkar's statue in the Town Hall premises.
The protesters held placards stating 'Congress bachavo, Siddaramaiah hatavo' and 'CM should stop anti-dalit attitude' as the rally passed through Hardinge Circle, Chamaraja Double Road, Ramaswamy Circle, Ashoka Circle and culminated in Ashokapuram.
The protest rally, which was organised by Akhila Karnataka V Sri nivas Prasad Abhimanigala Balaga, was attended by former mayor Purushotham, MCC corporator V Shailendra, members from Adi Karnataka Maha Samsthe and Federation of Progressive Association and other forums. Speaking to reporters ,Purushotam said that Srinivas Prasad is in politics for over 40 years and has served as both state and central minister. By dropping him from the ministry, Congress has committed a blunder and will pay for it in the next assembly election.
City police led by DCP HT Shekar, had made security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident during the rally and to manage traffic movement.
