Jaisalmer: Even before the stir that started after a man from Sedva area of Barmer district made objectionable comments on Prophet Mohammad on a social media site three days ago could settle down, a new case surfaced on Saturday evening.
In Barmer's Dhorimanna area, a person of special community made objectionable comments on social site on Hindu gods and goddesses that created commotion on Saturday evening and there was resentment among people.
Barmer collector Sudhir Kumar Sharma and SP Gagandeep Singh Singhla took immediate action to control the situation and arrested the accused. The situation is now under control.
On Sunday morning, the SP himself was keeping a watch over the situation at Dhorimanna and additional force has been deployed in the area as a preventive measure.
SP Gagandeep Singh Singhla said that one Ramswaroop Devda on Saturday evening gave report at the police station that Khabad Khan, a resident of Bhunia, had made objectionable comments on Hindu gods and goddesses on Facebook that has hurt the sentiments and spread resentment among people.
He said looking to the seriousness of the matter, police lodged a case and took the accused in custody.
