Man held on charges of rape

Thiruvananthapuram: Medical College police on Sunday arrested a 28-year-old man on charges of allegedly sexually exploiting a college girl after giving her false promise of marriage. Police identified the accused as Anoop of Chaluthundu in Kottayam district.
Police said that according to the complaint filed by the girl, the accused sexually exploited her after taking her to different parts in the city.He also clicked her nude pictures and blackmailed her. The accused has been slapped with IPC 376 that pertains to rape. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
2 arrested for theft
Kovalam police on Sunday recorded the arrest of two men accused in theft of construction materials meant for Kazhakkoottam-Mukkola bypass road works. They have been identified as Ramulu, 37, hailing from Telengana and Narasimha Yadav, 33, hailing from Andhra Pradesh. The duo stole iron rods from the yard of the KNR Constructions company under which they worked as drivers.
They were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
