Man abducted for live-in relation, 6 held

Rajkot: In a joint operation, police teams from Rajkot city and Wankaner town, rescued a 35-year-old man, who was abducted by four persons and confined in Sindhavadar village near Wankaner, on Saturday night.
Police swung into action following a complaint lodged by a woman, Guzmeen Parasara ,who was in a live-in relationship with the victim, Jignesh Rawal, on 150-feet Ring Road.
In all, six people were arrested. Guzmeen named her father Abuji Parasara and close family members including Gulab Parasara, who is also a Morbi district panchayat member, Ismail Parasara, Amin Ahmed Parasara, Munir Parasara and Ika Saraiya in her complaint.
She told the University police station officials that her father and three others had come to their house and abducted Jignesh after beating him up. They took him away in their Scorpio on Saturday night.
"She said her family members were unhappy with her live-in relationship with Jignesh and had threatened him of dire consequences if he did not leave her," said B D Rathwa, police sub-inspector, who is investigating the case.
