Dengue infects 17 in Pindi

rawalpindi - Despite anti-dengue campaign to eliminate the disease, at least three more patients were admitted in different hospitals of teh city, raising the toll of patients diagnosed with dengue fever to seventeen.

According to details, Punjab government had issued directives to district health department to revoke the Eid holidays of anti-dengue campaign workers for continuation of anti-dengue campaigns. Sources said the anti-dengue campaigners recovered dengue larvae from 107 places which has alarmed the district authorities.

The provincial government has taken notice of the alarming situation and expressed its determination to wipe out dengue from the province. The officials of district health department have said that any kind of neglect during anti-dengue campaigns is intolerable.

They said in order to achieve the goal, it is essential that citizens should also play their role by cooperating with staff to eliminate dengue fever.
