Gurgaon: Parents of students of DPS Sushant Lok are planning to file a review petition with additional chief secretary P K Das, on his stay on the interim stay order on fee hike, issued by the fee and fund regulatory committee (FFRC).
DPS Sushant Lok was one of the audited schools which was issued a stay on fee hike by FFRC. Subsequent to the FFRC's interim order, the ACS issued a stay on it after DPS Sushant Lok filed an appeal.
Around 200 parents with children studying in DPS gathered on Sunday morning to discuss whether they should approach the court or wait for the final audit order.
Many parents questioned the intervention of the ACS at this point of the audit. Some questioned how the stay order could be issued on June 13, when the divisional commissioner was called in for a hearing on the issue only on June 17.
"I don't understand why there is a debate on the FFRC's role now. If the schools or officials had doubts about the FFRC or its functioning, they should have raised it earlier. The fact that this came up only after FFRC ordered a stay on fee hikes, indicates something is wrong somewhere," said a parent, requesting anonymity.
The protesting parents described the chief secretary's decision as completely unjust. "The order is unfair as we were not even given a chance to put forward our issues," said Gurvinder Singh Oberoi, parent representative from DPS Sushant Lok.
"I have already communicated to parents regarding the stay order," said Sunita Nagpal, principal, DPS Sushant Lok.
