Special tag for backward districts sought

The Congress, the YSR Congress, the CPI, the CPI (M), and the Lok Satta, and other mass organisations have resolved to launch a united fight for special status for the seven backward districts in the State. At a roundtable organised by the Lok Satta here on Sunday, LSP State general secretary B. Babji, DCC president Yedla Adiraju, CPI (M) district secretary T. Suryanarayana, CPI leader V. Krishnam Raju, and YSRC SC/ST Cell president Jai Hind Kumar criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for not exerting bringing pressure on the Central government to sanction special package.
