IIFA 2016 Live Updates: Sonakshi Sinha's tribute to Sridevi; Farhan Akhtar - Shahid Kapoor's musical face - off and the Best Debut Awards

Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal took home the awards for Best Male and Best Female Debuts

It is a treat to hear Farhan Akhtar sing even if the lyrics are highly nonsensical. He gave an impromptu musical performance. Farhan walked from the crowd into the stage. Not one to be left behind, Shahid Kapoor also sang on the stage. They competed with each other and everyone was laughing away. Later, Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor joined them for a live gig. Deepika Padukone's beau seems to be having the maximum fun at the event. Sonakshi Sinha paid a tribute to Sridevi by performing on a medley of her songs. She danced on Mr India's Hawa Hawaii, Himmatwala's Nainon Main Sapna and Chaalbaaz's Kisi Ke Haath. She sparkled in a purple outfit and everyone cheered for her. Bhumi Pednekar came up in a light purple gown to get the award for best debut female. She thanked her parents and everyone at YRF. Bhumi won the award for Dum Laga Ke Haishaa. A very dapper Vicky Kaushal walked up to the stage to collect the award for Masaan. He thanked the film's cast and crew. The other winners were Juhi Chaturvedi for Piku Best Story. She urged that women stories be made more in Bollywood and how the girl needs a voice. She got a loud applause. Farhan and Shahid seem to share a great chemistry. They have said some naughty lines as well. They poked jokes on award vapasi and censorship so far. Stay tuned for more updates...
