Two teachers suspended for MDM mismanagement

Berhampur: Two primary school teachers in Ganjam district were suspended on Friday due to mismanagement of midday meal scheme. "They are Laxmana Behera, headmaster of upper primary school, Gothiaala and Purnachandra Nayak, an assistant teacher of UP School K N Pur in Purushottampur block," said assistant district education officer (ADEO) Binita Senapati.District collector P C Choudhary had visited the schools on Friday and discussed the matter with students. He was not satisfied with the meal preparation and asked the education officers to suspend the teachers. Students of Nodal UP School at Bilipada under Beguniapada block staged a dharna on the school premises on Saturday for allegedly being served inferior quality of food. The students boycotted the classes to stage a dharna. The SDEO said they have no information about the students agitation. "We will inquiry into the matter," she added.
