A "BULL SHOW" in Hyderabad will be at the centre of attraction as the beast of burden comes under spotlight.

The humped bull imprints on tablets of the pre-historical Harappan civilisation and the emblem of Lord Shiva of the holy Hindu trinity would walk down the ramp in what is being claimed to be the first international show of indigenous bull breeds in the country.

  1. 'Ankush', a not-for-profit organisation (NPO) engaged in the genetic improvement of bull breeds in India to match global standards of milk production, is hosting the show.
  2. Apart from the Union Government, agriculture ministry of countries like South America, Brazil, Bolivia, Columbia, and Canada have partnered for the event.
  3. The NPO has also instituted an award after a cattle movement titled as the 'Glorious Nandi'.
  4. Union Minister for Agriculture, Radha Mohan Singh would be the chief guest at the occasion along with Bandaru Dattatreya.
  5. "Increasing milk production in India is one of our top priorities. We have also started a program to better Indian indigenous breeds of milch cattle and improving bull varieties is at the core of this crusade to increase production of milk per cow each day. Better the bull, better the cow and hence more the milk production," Singh told Mail Today.
  6. The mela would be showcasing robust and genetically improved indigenous bulls, christened "Dream Bulls of India".
