Ahmedabad: Over the last two weeks the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has been flooded with complaints of overflowing gutters and contaminated water supply in the East and Central Zones.
On Saturday, Congress MLA from Dariapur Gyasuddin Shaikh said that for the last three months, the AMC has not been organizing the much needed MP-MLA coordination meeting.

In a letter to the municipal commissioner, Sheikh said that there have been several health complaints because of water contamination in Patwa Sheri and Hebatkhan ni Chali in Kalupur. He also pointed out that in Khadia area's Kaman wadi pol, Kapdiwadi, Goden Plaza and near Raipur Darwaza, there have been several complaints of overflowing and block drainage.
In Jamalpur Panch Pipli, Tangarwad and Kalupur's Khas Bazaar areas have been complaining of blocked drainage for the last week, says Sheikh. "All of these works were to be taken up during the co-ordination meeting with the AMC. One can expect waterborne diseases getting more severe during the monsoon if these issues are not addressed in time," says Sheikh.
