Water Supply to remain affected only for 24 hours
Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and The Orange City Water (OCW) has planned to take up 48-hours repair and maintenance work at Pench-II water treatment plant (WTP)on July 15 and 16.
Along with, planned Pench-II WTP rehabilitation work, NMC- OCW have also planned some major works of interconnection between 500mm Trimurti Nagar line with 700mm Takli Sim Line. This will benefit in commissioning of new Trimurti Nagar ESR and resolve low-pressure water supply issues at Sonegaon, Adarsh Colony, Bhoge layout and Bhamti area.

On GH-Omkar Nagar Feeder, installation of air valves at Morris College T-Point and Reshimbagh Square will resolve the frequent air locking problems.
In a bid to provide Nagpurians maximum relief, NMC & OCW bulk water supply management technical experts have divided the areas affected due to shut down into two parts. Because of this, even though the Pench-II WTP will be shut for 48 hours, each of the listed areas water supply shall be affected for 24 hours only.
On day one, water supply will be affected in areas such as Laxmi Nagar Zone (Pratap Nagar ESR, Khamla ESR, Laxmi Nagar New ESR, Gayatri Nagar ESR, Takli Sim ESR), Hanuman Nagar Zone (Chinchbhuvan ESR) and Dharampeth Zone (Ram Nagar ESR).
Similarly, on day two (July 16), water supply will be affected in areas including Mangalwari Zone (Gittikhadan ESR, Seminary Hills GSR) Gandhibagh Zone (Sitabuldi For GSR, Boriyapura ESR, Khadan), Dharampeth Zone ( Rifle Line Futala Line, Ram Nagar GSR) and Laxmi Nagar Zone (Jaitala and Laxminagar Old ESR).
However, during this shutdown, other water treatment plants including Pench- I, Pench- III, Old Gorewada, Pench-IV at Godhani and Kanhan WTP will remain fully operational, and will not affect their water supply.
