Panaji may partner with Gao as ‘sister cities’

PANAJI: Ambassador of Mali to India, Niankoro Yeah Samake recently met with Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) mayor Surendra Furtado to discuss a proposal for Panaji to partner with the town of Gao as sister cities. “He is returning with the mayor of the city to discuss this and to sign the treaty. He also said that anybody interested in iron ore mining in Mali will get licenses within 72 hours,” Furtado said.
During the courtesy call, the two leaders discussed how CCP could support Mali in its endeavour to tackle its solid waste management woes.“We have given them information about our segregation of solid waste,” Furtado said.
