Youth killed by friends for stealing their mobile phones

Lucknow: A youth was murdered in Chinhat. While three suspects, Ranjeet, Ganesh and Bablu are absconding, four others were arrested on Saturday. Ramesh, Ramu, Jitendra and Mahesh killed their rival and neighbour Pramod of Digdiga village at their house on June 30 because he stole their mobile phones. They left the body and fled the scene.
When Pramod did not return home, his father Ram Kumar Yadav went to the house of Ramesh, Ramu and Jitendra of Chinhat and Mahesh of Barabanki.He found the house locked. Later, he lodged a report and told police that Pramod had gone to Ramesh's house after which he went missing.
On July 5 morning, Ram Kumar noticed a stench emanating from Ramesh's room and sent his younger son to check. Police were informed and they found evidence of a body having been left here for some time. Police later nabbed the miscreants who confessed they had murdered Pramod. Four days after the murder, the miscreants had wrapped the corpse in a blanket and loaded it in a truck before leaving for Barabanki where they dumped it. ASP (North) Vijay Dhull said a team had been formed to search for the body in Indira canal while hunt is on for other miscreants.
