The teenage bagpipers who are playing T in the Park

A group of bagpipe players are touring the T in the Park site trying to raise people's spirits in the rain.

The average age of the group is 14 years old and they're playing all day.

Sixteen year-old Pipe Major Jamie Miller says "It's really cool" to be playing on the same day as Calvin Harris.

Poor weather has left the site muddy, but Jamie, dressed in a kilt, says that's not stopping people enjoying themselves.

"We've got lots of people cheering and dancing along.

"We're up there with some big bands and there's actually people who are watching us which is brilliant," he tells Newsbeat at Strathallan Castle.

In total there are 22 bagpipers who range in age from 12-year-old George to Harry who's 19.

"We're all from around here and it's really great to be playing traditional Scottish music at the biggest Scottish festival of the year," Jamie says.

And they're all hoping to see the biggest Scottish act play the headline slot on Saturday.

"We'll definitely go see Calvin Harris," he says, with the rest of the group nodding.

Calvin is playing his eighth T in the Park festival, his last being two years ago when he was joined on stage by Will Smith.

T boss Geoff Ellis told Newsbeat: "Last time he played at the old site was the biggest crowd we've ever had on the main stage".
