Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to deposit Rs 71.7 lakh with Akurdi court
PUNE: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will deposit Rs 71.7 lakh with the Akurdi court to reimburse the salaries and allowances of its employees for the fiscal 2015-16. The standing committee of the civic body has approved a resolution to this effect.
Police will take action in cases related to the municipal corporation under the Indian Penal Code(IPC) and Criminal Procedure Code(CrPC).
The state law and judiciary department has approved the functioning of Judicial Magistrate First Class(JMFC) at Akurdi for these cases occurring in the civic limits. The civic body has to bear the expenditure on the staff and office of this court. There are a total 17 posts including that of JMFC sanctioned for the court. This court through the district judge informs the civic body about the details of the expenditure on the staff and office after which the civic body reimburses the amount to it.
The district court through its letter of May 22, 2015 has demanded reimbursement of Rs 71.7 lakh as expenditure on salaries and allowances on the employees and officers at Akurdi court. The civic body too has been making provision in its annual budget to reimburse the expenditure of Akurdi court ever since the court became operational. The civic body had made a provision of Rs 73 lakh for it in the annual budget of 2015-16.
