'Stone killer' may undergo psychological profiling
Ahmedabad: Rajkot police questioning Hitesh Ramavat may have a psychological profile of his prepared by forensic experts as much about what motivated him is yet to be known.
"Ramavat, 32, a native of Rajkot, lost his father 21 years ago and his mother 9 years ago. After his brother refused him shelter, he found support from his sister. He stopped his studies after class X and had started driving an auto in Jamnagar for the last six months.
As he was familiar with Rajkot and its haunts frequented by gay men, he would come to the city to find victims," said an official involved in investigation.
Ramavat felt cheated by his friends and family and kept to himself. After his first killing, he asked one friend to help him with a change of clothes, but he was refused. While officials cite a homosexual experience at the age of 16 years as his trigger, over the years Ramavat developed multiple relationships.
"Stones were found at his shanty, but it is believed that their easy availability motivated him to choose this weapon. He confessed to have seen serial killer films including the recent Raman Raghav 2.0. His signature style was to make a call from the victim's mobile phone to inform about the killing. He does not exhibit remorse and says that at least he won't have to bother about meals in prison," said the official.
