Nico Rosberg plays down FP2 absence

SILVERSTONE, Great Britain -- Nico Rosberg has played down the significance of missing second practice in his battle with Lewis Hamilton at the British Grand Prix this weekend.

A water leak and the resulting investigation saw Rosberg sit out of second practice at Silverstone, meaning he missed out on the usual race preparation that takes place on Friday afternoon. But Rosberg is confident he will be able to catch up quickly by analysing teammate Lewis Hamilton's data.

"I will try and do the homework and listen to what Lewis is doing, watching his data and all of that, trying to learn a few bits and pieces that I can then take on for my car so I was not far off this morning in terms of balance," he said.

"It will be fine. Tomorrow morning, we'll just practice on a few extra things into FP3, maybe do some short long runs as well to practice a little bit for the race because I did not do much practice at all for the race and qualifying. It'll be OK."

Asked what can stop him from winning Sunday's race, Rosberg said: "Lewis Hamilton is the only possibility I think at the moment. He will try for sure and it will be a good battle and I look forward to battling it."
