Casting coups seem like average, everyday affair in comparison to films where the Khans team up. Whether it’s Aamir Khan and Salman Khan teaming up for gags or Shah Rukh Khan and Salman kicking up an action storm, movies that feature more than one Khan are an instant entrant into movie history. Here are 7 films where the Khans worked together and we just can’t get enough of these legendary duos.

Salman Khan, Aamir Khan

Andaz Apna Apna

Aamir Khan and Salman Khan teamed up in the comedy classic and created history. Andaz Apna Apna is possibly the most popular cult hit in India. The movie’s set pieces and dialogue are quoted verbatim in day to day life. On the list of films where Khans have worked together, Andaz Apna Apna ranks number 1. Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have even been touted to feature in a sequel. That’s a dream come true.

Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan

Karan Arjun

What Andaz Apna Apna is to comedy, Karan Arjun is to action movies. This masala entertainer with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan is the epitome of slick, action driven entertainment. Rakhee’s ‘Mere Karan Arjun dialogue’ is already part of Internet Hall of Fame. The sight of Salman and Shah Rukh walking nest to each other as brothers is an idea that just makes us feel like a 100 crores.

Shah Rukh Kha, Kajol, Salman Khan

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is more about Kajol’s and Shah Rukh Khan’s love story with Rani Mukerji adding a hint of magic with the love triangle. But the moment Salman Khan makes a cameo appearance, the entire tone of the film changes. There are casting coups and then there’s the phenomenal chance of having two Khans in one frame. No wonder then, that Salman even took home a Filmfare Award for this Karan Johar film.

Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Shah Rukh Khan

Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam

Hum Tumhare Hai Sanam has the distinction of being only the second film to feature both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles. While the movie did feature both Khans on opposite ends and in direct competition, the jaded storyline and treatment of this love story / family drama featuring Madhuri Dixit didn’t work with the audience. Scenes of angry altercations between Salman and Shah Rukh weren’t all that memorable either.

Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta

Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega

Even though the love triangle in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega was straight out of melodrama land, the movie had its moments. Salman Khan played a singer and his character gets caught in many misunderstandings in the film. To bail him out and to return the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai favour, Shah Rukh Khan makes a cameo appearance as things iron out between Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta.

Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Saif Ali Khan

Pehla Nasha

Go back to 1993 and you get a relatively unknown film called Pehla Nasha directed by debutant Ashutosh Gowariker. The film featured Deepak Tijori, Pooja Bhatt and Raveena Tandon as the leads. But the movie also has the unique distinction of being the only film where Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan feature in a scene together.

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan

Dushman Duniya Ka

Brownie points to anyone who knew about this 1996 film featuring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan together. Technically they’re not in the film together, SRK plays a bit role, while Salman Khan only makes a blink-and-miss appearance. The actual leads in this movie are Jeetendra and Sumalatha, but the poster of this film was sold on the back of SRK and Salman’s popularity as a team. Just a few months after Karan Arjun’s rip roaring success.
